Dear Doug,

You really were a one-man Klezmer band and when you entertained our seniors at the 92 St Y on May 20 and you had everyone in the place thoroughly enjoying themselves..  Your wonderful music is infused with real heart and joy and we will definitely have you back at 60+ this year! Thanks for a great show.

Lincoln Square Synagogue

Everybody loves a surprise, especially on Chanukah! Sometimes people are surprised by the special Chanukah foods that are served, whether jelly doughnuts or latkes. Sometimes the Chanukah surprise consists of the letter on which the dreidel falls. But this Chanukah we at Lincoln Square Synagogue were given a very special surprise by attending Doug Leblang’s wonderful performance at the annual Chanukah party.
Not long ago, I received a promo CD in the mail from Doug and began to play it. I was enthralled by what I heard. I took a chance, and called Doug, and although he was booked every other night of Chanukah, he was still available for our Chanukah party.
Boy did we have fun! Doug is just one terrific entertainer. He is a versatile musician, wonderful raconteur and a great joke teller. We had people of all ages at our Chanukah party, and Doug successfully connected with them all. Some students who were taking classes next door, peeked in to see where the wonderful music was coming from. They never returned to their classes! It was like finding a treasure, and now that we found him, we will not let him go!
I urge all of you who are looking for new, unique, entertainment to consider Doug Leblang and his sensational one man orchestra.

Ephraim Z. Buchwald, Rabbi

Rabbi Buchwald is one of the foremost leaders in the movement of Jewish return in America today. He has pioneered and developed many of the most dramatic and effective outreach programs in this country

The following has been reprinted from Kol Hadash Newsletter of Congregation B'nai Jeshrun January 2005 Issue. It is an excerpt from article about the Judith Bernstein Lunch Program ( a program that serves lunch to almost 200 needy people every Thursday )

...........For the past two months we have been extremely fortunate to have live music each week. Doug Leblang, a talented keyboardist, has been entertaining us. As you might imagine, our guests come for a wide range of ethnic and racial backgrounds, and this seems to suit Doug's musical sklls very well. He plays rhythm and blues, Latin American music, traditional standards and of course, Jewish songs. Sometimes a guest appears at the microphone to sing. When Doug plays a freylic tune, people clap and dance.

Dear Doug,

As soon as I heard your cd I knew you were the right musician for our torah dedication. My instincts about you were right. Your music was wonderful, your enthusiasm was contagious and your desire to make this event special was clearly noted. It was a pleasure to have you perform at this simcha. You set the tone for a day filled with joy, pride and spiritual commitment.
Thank you so much and I know we will be seeing you soon.
Have a wonderful holiday and may success and good health be in your future.

"Doug Leblang has performed at the United Hebrew Geriatric Center many times. He is a great musician and provides a wonderful show. It is obvious during his performance how much he likes working with the elderly. This can be seen through the rapport he establishes with the audience. They thoroughly enjoy his show and always ask if he can come back soon. I highly recommend him for any of your musical needs."

Jerrye Lee,
Director of Therapeutic Recreation

Doug captured the attention and interest of our Senior Citizens. In just a few moments he motivated people to clap, dance, sing and become emotionally involved in his warm and meaningful performance. I highly recommend Doug as a performer for people of all ages and background. He is a highly skilled professional who gives his all."

Rabbi Richard Levy, Director

He had brilliant arrangements and he played all the instruments supremely well. He has good heart and soul and feeling and it comes out in the music,,,,,,he’s just an all around artist. It was a great Purim holiday and it made it even better with this exact presentation."

Claire Goldstein

“It was hard to believe. First he played some beautiful yiddish tunes on the accordian. Then he switched to te clarinet without missing a beat. During the switches he told some hysterical jokes. Then he comes back with this miniature keyboard I never saw before. He had the whole room clapping and some began dancing.”
