Doug began performing as a pianist at age six. In the late sixties
he backed up various oldies groups on Hammond B-3 organ
including the Coasters, Crystals, Exciters and Bobby Rydell.
He appeared with his band "Two Dollar Bill" on a 1968 remake
of the play"Arsenic and Old Lace" with Bob Crane, Sue Lyon
and Fred Gwynne. In the Seventies he toured over fifty cities
in US, Canada and Puerto Rico with his band "Celebration."where he did arrangements, clothing design and lighting. He also
appeared on stage in a kibbutzing match with Bob Hope in
Washington DC in 1972. Also in 1972, Celebration appeared
on the Cerebal Palsy Telethon with Steve Lawrence and Edye
Gorme. He led "Main Squeeze" on a holiday tour of over forty US Army and Air Force bases in Europe in 1975. For certificate click here. He has performed at VIP Parties for the Virginia Slims Tennis Tournament at Madison Square Garden, at a Volunteers For Israel Rally, Shabbat Across America and at over 200 weddings and Bar Mitzvahs in the New York area. For client list click here. He now regularly performs with world famous clarinetist Sol Yaged, a protegé of Benny Goodman. He has appeared at dozens of NY area synagogues, senior centers and nursing homes where he regularly delights audiences with his heartfelt renditions of Jewish music. Also in the past year, as a member of B’nai Jeshrun Musician's Chavura, he played at an Israel Fair where all the proceeds went to Israeli businesses hurt by terrorism. This group also performed at St. Bartholemew’s Church at a media event interdenominational celebration of bread. At this event, Christian, Islamic and Jewish musicians played together. He has been a volunteer at New York Foundling Hospital, United Hebrew Geriatric Center
and a Volunteers for Israel Rally. Every Thursday he entertains 200 needy people at B'nai Jeshrun Soup Kitchen. At a recent performance he led a large outdoor torah dedication parade in Smithtown, NY. For photo click here
